Personalized treatments to help you find relief, restore balance, and enhance your overall well-being. My approach is rooted in the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, tailored to your unique needs.
Acupuncture is the cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine, involving the precise insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body. By stimulating these energetic pathways, I aim to alleviate pain, reduce stress and anxiety, restore your body's natural balance, and boost its innate healing capabilities. In some cases, I enhance the therapeutic effect with electro-acupuncture, where a gentle electrical current is applied to the needles. This technique is particularly effective for intense pain relief, muscle rehabilitation, and often produces quicker, more potent outcomes for specific conditions. You'll feel a mild tingling or tapping, which clients generally find well-tolerated and highly effective.
Cupping therapy is an ancient TCM technique where I place glass or plastic cups on the skin to create a vacuum or suction. This gentle suction draws the skin and superficial muscle layers upwards, promoting localized blood flow and energetic circulation. Cupping is excellent for releasing muscle tension, alleviating pain by improving circulation, aiding in detoxification, and can even offer respiratory support. After a session, you may notice temporary red or purple marks on the skin; these are normal, painless, and usually fade within a few days, indicating improved circulation in the treated area.
Moxibustion is a traditional heat therapy using dried mugwort, an herb known for its warming properties. In my clinic, I primarily use smokeless moxibustion, allowing you to experience its therapeutic benefits without the smoke and strong odor. I carefully position the heated moxa stick near specific acupuncture points or areas of discomfort. This technique is particularly effective for warming and invigorating the body, dispelling cold, reducing pain (especially for conditions worsened by cold), and boosting overall energy and vitality. You will feel a pleasant, gentle warmth during the treatment, which is deeply comforting and relaxing.
Gua Sha is a traditional healing technique where I use a smooth-edged tool to gently scrape the skin. This controlled friction helps to release tension, improve circulation, and stimulate the flow of Qi and Blood in specific areas. Gua Sha is particularly beneficial for relieving muscle and fascial pain, reducing inflammation, improving localized circulation, and addressing stagnation that contributes to discomfort. Similar to cupping, Gua Sha can leave temporary red marks on the skin, known as "sha." These are a normal therapeutic response, indicate increased blood flow, and typically fade within a few days without discomfort.

What to Expect During Your Treatment
Your comfort and understanding are paramount. Here's a general overview of what you can expect during your acupuncture sessions with me:
Your initial consultation is our first opportunity to connect. We'll spend time discussing your comprehensive health history, current concerns, and your health goals. I'll ask detailed questions to understand your unique body constitution and the root cause of your symptoms from a TCM perspective, allowing me to develop a personalized treatment plan specifically for you. During the treatment itself, I'll gently insert very fine, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points. You might feel a slight, brief sensation upon insertion, often followed by a feeling of warmth, tingling, or dull pressure; most people find the treatment deeply relaxing. Needles are typically retained for 20-30 minutes, after which we'll briefly discuss how you're feeling and any immediate effects. I may also offer lifestyle or dietary recommendations to support your healing between sessions. Your privacy and comfort are always ensured, with professional draping and a serene, quiet space for your relaxation.
